Evelyn shoulders the invisible barrier that holds back the beasts, yet her sister Leah spins lies and her fiancé Kyle uses them to banish her beyond the walls. The moment she crosses the threshold the shield shatters and the city is overrun. Warlord Alaric pulls her from the wilderness and together they raise New Dawn, a haven where survivors find safety and a bond built on respect blossoms between them. When former citizens plead for her return, she turns them away. Leah falls to the monsters and Kyle perishes seeking redemption, leaving Evelyn and Alaric to forge a future on their own terms.
